Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the Zent app, the Zent controllers, this website and the Zent shop keep, why, where it is stored and how you can delete it. Zent is run by Revestir Dry SRL (Str. Porii 112, bl. C2, sc. 2, ap. 23, Florești 407280, Cluj county, Romania; CUI RO44000622), which is responsible for this data as the data controller. Contact: [email protected], or by post at Str. What we keep

• Your account: email address, first name, surname, the date you accepted these terms, your language and, if you add one, a profile photo. If you sign up with an email and password, the password is stored only as a secure hash. Your theme choice stays on your phone.
• Signing in with Google or Apple: if you choose it, Google gives us your name, email address, profile picture and an identifier for your Google account; Apple gives us your name and your email address, or a private relay address if you choose to hide it. We never see your Google or Apple password, and we get nothing else from these accounts.
• Your devices: each controller’s identifier (its network hardware address) and secret key, name, room, position, motor state and mode, battery level, firmware version and update status, when it was last online and whether it restarted after a power cut, power-saving setting, schedules, scenes and groups, and for lights their brightness.
• Approximate location: the city-level location of your internet connection (latitude, longitude and time zone), saved with your devices and used only to work out sunrise and sunset for schedules. We never ask for your phone’s GPS location.
• Notifications: a push token for each phone where you allow notifications, your alert preferences and the list of alerts sent to you.
• Home-screen widgets: a token that lets the widget on your phone show and move your devices.
• Sharing and homes: which devices you shared and with which Zent accounts, and the members and guests of your home.
• Voice assistants: if you link Zent to Google Home or Amazon Alexa, the link itself and the time it was last used.
• Shop orders: what you ordered, prices, your name, phone number, email, delivery address or easybox locker, billing details (including the company and its tax ID if you ask for a company invoice), how you paid and the order’s status. Your saved addresses, cart and wishlist are kept with your account.
• Card payments: handled by Banca Transilvania on its own secure page. We receive only whether the payment went through and its reference; we never see or store your card details.
• Reviews: the reviews you write, shown with your first name and the initial of your surname.
• Technical logs: our providers keep short-lived logs of requests (IP address, time, what was requested) to keep the service running and secure.

Your Wi-Fi password is sent only to the controller during setup. It never reaches our servers. We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don’t sell data.

Why

To run the service you asked for: signing you in, showing and moving your devices, running schedules and scenes, sending the alerts you turned on, letting people you choose control a device, updating the firmware, answering voice commands, and delivering and invoicing your orders. The legal basis is the contract with you (GDPR article 6(1)(b)); for invoices and accounting records it is our legal obligation (article 6(1)(c)); for logs that keep the service secure it is our legitimate interest (article 6(1)(f)).

Where it is stored and who processes it

• Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage) in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
• Cloudflare hosts this website and the firmware, gives us the city-level location of your connection, and forwards the messages you send to [email protected] to our mailbox.
• Resend sends our account and order emails from [email protected].
• Google: signs you in if you choose “Continue with Google”, keeps our mailbox (Gmail) with the messages you send us, and serves the fonts of this website (Google Fonts, which sees your IP address).
• Apple: signs you in if you choose “Continue with Apple”.
• Expo, and through it Apple and Google, delivers push notifications and app updates.
• Banca Transilvania processes card payments.
• Sameday (the courier and easybox lockers) receives your name, phone number and delivery address to deliver your order.
• Google Firebase keeps a backup of the previous version of the service.
• Google Home or Amazon Alexa, only if you link them: they receive your devices’ names, rooms and states, and send the commands you give them. Their own privacy policies apply to what you say to them.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union, under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long

As long as you have a Zent account. When you delete your account (in the app: Account → Account settings → Delete account), we delete your account, profile photo, schedules, shares, saved addresses, cart, wishlist, reviews and voice assistant links, and your devices are released so they can be set up again. Orders and invoices are kept, no longer linked to an account, for as long as Romanian accounting and tax law requires. Technical logs are deleted after a few days. You can unlink Google Home or Alexa at any time from their apps, and remove Zent’s access to your Google account from your Google account settings.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format, by writing to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro) or the authority in your country.

Children

Zent isn’t meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly keep their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email when the change matters.
